This October saw Grant and I off on a trip to Blackpool organised by the GVVT. A brilliant time was had by all visiting places such as The East Lancs Railway, The Lancastian Transport Trust, Manchester Museum of Transport for the Leyland Atlantean 50 event and on a private tour of the Illuminations aboard Coronation tram car 304. On the last day of our recent Highland holiday we paid a visit to the fantastic Highland Folk Museum in Newtonmore. We only had a few hours here and we didn't see a fraction of the site and best of all it's free!!!

During a recent trip to Kingussie, we walked to the remains of Ruthven Barracks, which were built as a stronghold of the Government after the Jacobite uprising of 1715. The Jacobites attacked again in 1745 and by 1746 the garrison had surrendered. Well worth visit if in the area.
